Making a Better Community, Together

Thank you to the donors, volunteers and partner organizations who support our programs. Every donation makes a difference.

Support Lead-Up

The Lead-Up® program is based around workshops with horses in which participants are introduced to humane ways of handling and interacting with horses. Participants discover non-violence and non-aggression for themselves through interactions with horses and principally through the experience of Join-Up® with a horse, the non-violent training system designed by Monty Roberts, world-renowned horseman and author of The Man Who Listens to Horses.

Through Lead-Up workshops we can decrease the crime rates in South Africa, and provide a better future for at-risk youth and heads of child-only households.

Support Equ-Us

The first of its kind in South Africa, Equ-Us™ is an equine-assisted program with therapeutic benefits, that uses a combination of Monty Roberts’ ground-breaking Join-Up® techniques and globally acclaimed motivational methods, to help those harmfully involved with drugs and/or alcohol to resolve ambivalence about behaviour change.

Through Equ-Us workshops we can decrease the crime rates in South Africa, and provide a better future for teens and adults that are working towards a life free from drug and/or alcohol dependence.

“A life does not get better by chance, it gets better by change.” ~ Jim Rohn

Sponsor a Future Instructor

Our goal is to take Monty Roberts concepts and our equine-assisted therapy programs across Africa. To have the greatest impact we plan to train and place at least one Monty Roberts Certified Instructor in almost all of Africa’s 54 countries in the next 10 years.

The Horses 4 Hope bursary program will train talented young African horsemen and women from disadvantaged backgrounds in the Monty Roberts methods, to enable them to grow our equine-assisted programs in their home countries.

But we can’t do it alone. And your generous contribution, no matter how big or small, will enable us to grow our network and support those in some of the world’s most war-torn and poverty-stricken countries.

Support Us by Taking a Monty Roberts Course

As a Monty Roberts Certified Instructor, founder and course facilitator Simon Marrier d’Unienville, will be holding Monty Roberts Horsemanship courses at our facilities including the 2-week Introductory Course of Horsemanship (upcoming course dates below), the Introductory Course in modular format, Horsemanship 101, and The Monty Roberts Kids Course.

All proceeds from private course attendees are used to fund our non-profit programs like our Lead-Up youth workshops, our Equ-Us recovery program, and our Instructor Training program. And by taking a course with us you can help to make a difference in the lives of those in need.
